What is Your Reality?

“There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other” – Douglas H. Everett.

A good person desires to have a good life. Hence, constantly dreams of how to make life better each day. The reality though, is that it takes more than imagining to actualise the vision they dream about: even worse, when the person cannot separate their dreams from their current realities.

In my opinion, it is extremely important to have a dream but more importantly is recognising that you are required to turn those dreams into a reality. More often, we find ourselves not wanting to separate ourselves from our dream world to make progress in the reality zone especially when we have laid out before us what is required to turn this dream into a reality.

Begin with the little things that make up little contributions on your path in your journey towards reality. Remember, it is about the end goal. Know why it is so important that your dream must become real. Identify the significance of this dream and this will keep you focused on the journey. When you begin to doubt if it would ever be, you must be your own cheerleader to encourage the advancement of this cause.

According to Harriet Tubman, “Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” Don’t let anyone tell you your dreams cannot be actualised, stay tuned into that vision. It will take time but do not be discouraged. Rather, stay committed to seeing the fulfilment of your dream.

Oprah Winfrey had this to say about realising your dream, “The key to realising a dream is to focus not on success but significance – and then even the small steps and little victories along your path will take on greater meaning.”

Choose a meaningful path for your advancement to reaching your desired reality.
