Develop Your Dream

“Start where You are. Use what You have. Do what You can.” Arthur Ashe.

The most beautiful thing about a dream is seeing how perfect everything is, until you wake up and realise to experience this dream’s perfect finish, some work has to be done in reality.

The question most of us are confronted with is, how do I actualise my perfect finish when all I saw was the end? Many would stay pondering on this question for a very long time without doing anything to help them get on the path to their answer.

Here’s this beginning of the answer: start where you are! Take time to do a survey on yourself. What is your current position? I do not mean that geographically. Position simply signifies, where your state of mind is at? Are you willing to launch forward to the desired reality? Are you willing to acquire the skills needed for this perfect finish? Are you willing to make adjustments to lifestyle and practise the discipline required for the journey ahead? If the answer to these questions was YES, then move on the next step by using what you already have on hand physically to steer you onto your desired path.

You may not even be aware of all that you have that could aid your journey. Learning how to harness the potentials you already possess would be a big plus – understanding the uniqueness you carry and knowing how to put into good use would help you stand out even as you engage what you already have to get what you want.

Let’s take for instance, relationships. Is relating well with people with one of the skills you already possess? Good interpersonal relationship skills is one of the very skills that will help you move forward. Knowing how to relate with different people, identifing the people that could help you on your desired journey and furthering on to collaborate with them.

Each of us already have what we can use. We just need to develop a deep hunger to really see our dreams become a reality. Keep pushing! Do what you can do to fulfil this dream. You have within you to see the perfect finish. You need to know that no one can want your perfect end as much as you do. Tom Bradley once said, “The only thing that will stop YOU from fulfilling your dreams is YOU.
