Love So Amazing E92 min read
Saturday’s outdoor party came quickly and it was a great success with a huge turnout. The sun rose really early on Sunday: the clouds were clear and it looked like a promising day. The house was soon bubbling with activities from preparations for the church service. It was a special Sunday according to Kate’s mother. The family attended Bodija Baptist Church which was located about twenty minutes from their residence in New Bodija.
In a short while, the whole family was seated in church; third pew from the front of the church on the left side by the main aisle of the church. The service started with prayers and soon after followed the worship session. The whole atmosphere was filled with the presence of God. In the midst of the worship, Deola took a look round the church. This was not her first time in Kate’s family church but everything and everyone felt different on this visit. People were dressed like they were in their Sunday’s best; the atmosphere held an aura of excitement and the front of the church had a big banner which read ‘God’s LOVE, so Amazing‘. She was beginning to get a hint of the ‘special’ Mrs. Osagie had talked about in the course of their lunch the day before.
The worship session soon came to an end: someone climbed on the altar to welcome everyone to a brand new Sunday and he encouraged anyone who was visiting the church for the very first time or after a really long while to please step forward. Kate gave Deola a nudge to go out at that instance but she declined saying she did not want to sit by herself with people she did not know. Kate let her be but not before giving Deola an encouraging smile.
The pastor stepped up to the altar after the choir ministered and welcomed everyone to church again. He commended the beautiful work done by ‘the beautification unit’ of the church and ended by declaring that the Lord would indeed reward their labour of love. He asked everyone to bow their heads for prayers; asking that the Lord would grant him utterance and grant the congregation fertile hearts to receive His Word.
