Love So Amazing E81 min read
Friday dawned bright and early.
Kate’s mother had informed the girls that they were going to accompany her to the market at noon to do a bit of shopping for the party they were hosting the next day. The party was in honour of Kate’s father; he had just been recently prompted to the post of the Managing Director in the organisation where he worked. They were having friends and colleagues over for an outdoor party; their compound in New Bodija was large enough to accommodate a crowd of a hundred people conveniently.
Her mother had only invited fifty people to the party; cooking was not going to be done within the house. The food and drinks had been contracted to different vendors; they were expected to set-up about two hours before the party was to begin. The girls spent some time gisting with Kate’s mother before the three women set out to market to buy other things that were needed for the party. Her mother also wanted to make sure she bought enough provisions to last both girls throughout the examination period. When they were done with the errands, they headed to a restaurant to have lunch.
Over lunch, Kate’s mother engaged Deola and Kate in conversation. ‘Deola, have you heard from your family lately? I hope they are all great. Send my regards especially to your mother; I have not spoken to her in a really long while’, Mrs Osagie said. ‘Girls, let’s get moving. I’m sure you want to both raise your feet before tomorrow’s party and before I forget, Sunday’s service is really special and you both will find out in less than forty-eight hours’, Mrs Osagie said with a big grin.
