The whispered YES! – Adventure
I had been looking forward to a getaway for some time and the opportunity finally showed up in the name of ‘going back to the roots’. All week before the day for departure arrived, I kept thinking about what to pack, what my experience would be like and most especially those I would meet. As the days drew closer, I had added more items to my already full box. LOL…to think I was going away for just three days.
Morning of departure day
#myPrince arrived and soon we were headed to the airport for our destination. I like seeing new places but I do not really enjoy flying. After about two and a half hours of departure from my place, we arrived at our first destination. We were welcomed and received with so much warmth. Gist flowed and plans were made for the other events that we were going to experience.
Afternoon of departure day
#myPrince and I were taken to the roots where I experienced what I had only visualised on TV (channel 157) to be precise. The experience was really exciting for me. Me, Lagos girl coming to the roots; the environment definitely left an impression on me. After spending about thirty minutes there, we headed back to our accommodation to freshen up. #myPrince had told me the day before that we were going to do a session of photos with my favourite person @udimee. I was really excited (LOL…I love photos).
Evening of departure day
Dress worn, make-up done, clutch in hand and shoes on, I was ready to head out for an evening of fun with #myPrince. Our chariot was waiting and we were transported to a place so beautiful. I had not seen such expanse of land in a really long while and the air was so clean. I could keep staring at the lovely nature that was right before me. I turned to #myPrince and thanked him for bringing me to such a beautiful place. I could stay outside all night.
@udimee and his team were already waiting when we got there. They were fully prepared…I was stunned! LOL…I thought it was the usually one camera click away thing. Menh! Was I wrong!!! The initial set of photos was taken in quick succession so that @udimee could make use of the sun set. Beautiful photos they were indeed. I was bubbling with excitement and everyone could sense it especially #myPrince. @emaney was helpful and he also added colour to the day (thanks for all the help you rendered…I will try to minimise how much I harass you. LOL)
While taking the last set of photos, @udimee asked him to propose by going down on one knee. #myPrince turned to me and said what if he proposed right there in middle of the photo session. I was too stunned to say anything but in my head I was thinking, he’s joking right?! He must be joking! Where is my dim light, food, soft music and there is no one recording the event. He then asked if I didn’t mind that there was no one to record since I wanted it. I just laughed…too sure he was not going to do anything like that. My heart skipped when it appeared like he was going to go down on one knee.
To be continued…
