Hi everyone. I promised the story would continue shortly. Well, still in the month of love…another one of my stories.
Drama!!! These phrases ‘Babe of life’ and ‘Boo of life’ can get a lady into serious problems if she is not sensitive and vigilant. I was away while my baby sister was serving (NYSC) when she met this guy that she eventually became friendly with. He was of great help during her service days; ‘padis‘ they called themselves. Every time we conversed, she had one or two things to say especially if the day was a CDS day. Eventually when I got back home, I met him a couple of times. Recently, my sister and I had surgeries; he got wind of the news so he decided to visit. Major reason he visited though was to verify something he heard the previous day from a mutual acquaintance. He stayed a while and made amends for not contacting us in a really long while. He entertained us with numerous stories especially as it concerned ‘a young man treating his young lady’. He went on and on about how he would treat his lady right. Shockingly some days after his visit, he buzzed me via BBM asking if he could take me out some time. I replied, sure! Why not? Thinking he meant that as a friend of my sister’s; until he went further to tell me how much he liked me *eyes rolling*. My first response was ‘LOL’. It was too funny… from where to where nau? This guy didn’t even know me plus he had met me just about 3 or 4 times. I played it cool and told him that we needed to start with the very first step; getting to know each other. Error!!! My phone became hot line: BBMs, SMSs, phone calls. I was getting ticked off. He went further to ask if we could Skype…I said yes; hoping this would be more like face-to-face conversations but oh boy was I wrong!!!!! Most of the conversation was dominated by how fine I was, how cute I was blah blah blah, with him continuously calling me ‘Babe of life! Boo of life!’. I really did not understand how I could have taken the pains to get hooked up to the Internet; staying away from members of my family and depriving myself of some minutes of channel 157 *face covered*(don’t worry I don’t watch it that often) and one young man would fill my time with how ‘cute and fine’ I am *eyes rolling* (thanks for the compliment…you can do better with the way it is given sha!). After the second attempt at Skype, I gave up on that medium of communication. Sometime in the course of the week, I had to ‘table his matter’ concerning the numerous pings, SMSs and calls. He was beginning to choke me!!!! He sometimes sent SMSs as early as 5am…who does that?! Somewhere along the line, he even asked me to stop by his office that he just felt like seeing my face. In my mind I was like ‘from a babe you are still trying to get a “yes” from?!’ Anyway, the last straw that broke the camel’s back! He asked that we go see a movie. He also invited my sister because he knew I would not have answered him if he asked me to come alone. He told us to go online to decide on the movie we wanted to see. I decided I wanted to watch an animation, ‘Frozen‘. When I told him, he said if that was what I wanted it was fine by him. I kept asking if he was okay with it. He kept saying it was all about me *eyes rolling, yimu* and here I was hoping, he would just come out with how he would rather see something else. Oh well! The day came and he asked us to take a cab to the location that he would pay. We got there and I paid the cab guy. On arrival, we discovered he had gotten the tickets without verifying if we still wanted to see that particular movie *turn off*. We were forced to do some window shopping since we still had some minutes to the movie. He asked if we wanted to get something to eat before the movie and we said no but I indicated where I would like to have lunch after the movie. His response, ‘This place is not good in the afternoon! It is better in the night’. I was like hmmm! #SMH. I let that slide. We went in for the movie after getting popcorn and drinks and lo and behold, he started ‘Babe of life’talk again *eyes rolling*. I simply told him I really liked to concentrate when I was seeing a movie. At the end of the movie, he thanked me for encouraging him to see the movie; that it was not so bad after all. I then had the opportunity to say ‘so you didn’t even want to watch this?!’ Trust nau, he said ‘Is not like that o!’ *lies* the guy was just full of lyrics. The time for lunch came and we went down; he said ‘where do you girls want to have lunch’because I was on the phone I pointed to me sister. We were both giving him an opportunity to redeem himself but alas, I overheard him say, ‘Let’s do KFC! Your sister likes burger’. In my mind I was like ‘what?!! this guy is using my sister as a cover up’. Don’t get me wrong! KFC is not a bad place to hang out but after the guy had made so much noise about how cheap my ex was and how he should have been taking me to places like classy restaurants. It just didn’t add up *turn off*. More and more, I began to distant myself emotionally from this young man. Over lunch I hardly said a word! When we were done, he called a cab so we could get home. While chilling for the cab, my sister said ‘Ehn ehn! Where’s the cab money for coming here?’ and what would my guy say?! ‘Send your account details’. What! When we were near cash points in the mall? As I tell you this story, we are still on some ‘posting‘ levels. #smh. The cab arrived! One would have thought that the first destination would be at our place but to my amazement; the cab guy was directed to drop him first then go drop us at home *mind you, our place was closer from the mall*. I began to wonder what kind of young man would not ensure the ladies got home first before he went his way. Days went by and my sister became curious about why he was even interested in her sister; his response was he wanted to be a part of our family. He said nothing about me in particular and what this young man forgot was that in the course of their service year, he had also tried to make a move on my sister despite the fact that he had a girl he was dating then. What a PLAYER!
Have an awesome day and watch out for the players *winks*!
